Power Requirements
This unit requires AC 110–220V power and is not designed for USB operation.

How It Compares
Most MediaLight products are engineered to run on USB 2.0 (up to 4m) or USB 3.0 (above 4m). At 5V, brightness tops out at about 300 lumens for the full strip, with the Mk2 Flex 6m being the longest single-strip USB-powered bias light on the market  (our 7m Flex comprises two 3.5m strips with a Y-connector). That’s more than enough for professional bias lighting in nearly every situation.

When to Choose 24V
For very large displays, darker wall colors, or non-bias-lighting uses (architectural installs, DIY projects, accent lighting), additional output can be useful. That’s where the MediaLight Mk2 24V comes in, delivering approximately 800 lumens per meter with longer runs and higher total brightness.

Recommendation
For bias lighting, our 5V models remain the better choice for ease of use and dialing in low luminance levels. But when more power and scale are required, the Mk2 24V is available to meet those needs.
